An exciting initiative at 20 Norwich Street, Dereham sees Dereham Baptist Church, Green Pastures Christian Bookshop and Love Dereham (DBC's community-based charity) partner to be a Christian presence serving the local and wider community.

On 28th May 2019 Green Pastures Bookshop began operating from the street-facing retail area which used to be Adcocks (formerly Bennetts) electrical store. The rear of the shop gives open access to another comfortably furnished space which can be partitioned off when the shop is shut to provide a separate meeting place for a range of activities. During shop opening hours it is used by DBC for Listen Up and by Love Dereham for Community-based activities – including the new base for the Community Fridge.

The Community Fridge is OPEN again after the Lockdown from Monday to Friday 10am - 1pm. Staff will ensure COVID-19 safety procedures are in place. We therefore ask you to come in, one person at a time; entering at the rear door on a one way system and leaving via the front door of the shop. Please observe social distancing when queuing.

Across the passageway behind the shop, the Hub includes two other rooms. There is an upper office area used for administration by Love Dereham and the Christians Against Poverty (CAP) centre. Lastly, at street level, there is a small unit which is used as a quiet space by DBC and on certain days by 4Cs Counselling Service (when COVID-19 regulations allow).
